Holiday Fun: 5 Toddler-Friendly Christmas Crafts You’ll Love

Looking for adorable keepsakes or simple activities to keep your toddler entertained this holiday season? These festive, DIY crafts are easy, fun, and perfect for creating memories.

Quick note: My own toddler has been teething and extra fussy lately, so we didn’t get much crafting done this past week. Still, I wanted to share these ideas—just picture tiny baby hands instead of mine when you imagine the finished projects!

1. Snowflake Cut outs ❄️

Materials:

  • White printer paper
  • Scissors

Fold and snip your way to beautiful snowflakes! Hang them on windows or string them together for a homemade garland. I was especially excited about this craft because it brings me back to Kindergarten. Since my toddler isn’t ready for scissors yet, I did the cutting while he watched and admired the finished product. If your child can use safety scissors, let them create their own snowflakes for extra fun.

Pro tip: After folding your paper several times, avoid cutting all the way through the edge that doesn’t open—this keeps your snowflake intact!

2. Ornament Handprints 🖐

Materials:

  • Non-toxic paint
  • Crayons
  • Sharpie
  • White printer paper

Paint your child’s hand and stamp it upside down on paper a couple of times. Add string lights and a bulb at the top of each handprint so they look like ornaments. I used some crayons to add lights on the strings.

3. Reindeer Antlers 🦌

     Materials:

  • Non-toxic paint
  • Brown and red crayon (for the reindeer and its nose)
  • Sharpie (for reindeer's eyes and nose)
  • White printer paper

If you have the ability to print out a reindeer, go for it! I opted to draw a reindeer and added my painted handprints as antlers. Just picture tiny toddler hands instead of mine and this turns into the cutest holiday craft!

4. Giant Coloring Sheet ☃️

     Materials:

  • Crayons
  • Large roll of paper
  • Sharpie (to draw the character)

Roll out a big sheet of paper and draw a Christmas character—Santa, a snowman, or even a tree. Let your child color it in for a fun, collaborative masterpiece.

I went with this $6 roll from Hobby Lobby: Natural Kraft Paper Roll | Hobby Lobby | 1301209.

5. DIY Paper Ornaments 🖍️

     Materials:

  • Crayons
  • Construction paper or printer paper
  • Stickers (optional)
  • Scissors and string (optional)

Cut out ornament shapes from construction or printer paper and let your child decorate them with crayons and stickers. Hang them on the tree with some string for a homemade touch. To cut a hole in the ornament, you can use a hole puncher or some scissors.

You’ll love these easy Christmas crafts for toddlers! They’re simple, inexpensive, and perfect for creating holiday memories without the stress. Plus, they make great keepsakes for parents and grandparents!

Happy holidays!🎄
