Civitas Strategies is a mission-driven organization that supports forgotten businesses, with a prominent focus on child care. Over the last 15 years they have come to understand the needs of child care businesses throughout the United States. Civitas Strategies works with nonprofit and state organizations to ensure that child care business owners can have sustainable and growing businesses. This work is supported through the creation of written guides, videos, innovative applications, one on one and group coaching, trainings and live presentations.
Jennifer Vail has been with Civitas Strategies for almost three years and is now the Associate Director of Content Creation. During her time on the Civitas Strategies’ team, she has been fortunate to work with the owners and staff of both Family Child Care and Child Care Centers to help them strengthen and grow their businesses. Her work includes coaching, creating content, and presenting webinars on topics that address the needs of providers. She is especially proud of her work with their Tax Education team. While they are often engaged by nonprofit and state organizations to work directly with the businesses they serve, Civitas Strategies also has no-cost tools, resources and apps available that child care providers can directly access themselves. Their most popular offering is an app called the Confidence in Quality Tax Rubric app, which is proving to be essential in helping child care providers understand their business taxes and prepare for tax seasons in the years to come.
