#WhatsUpWednesday with Tracy Doig from CO School of Public Health Culture of Welness Program

Culture of Wellness in Preschools Program is aimed at increasing daily physical activity levels and healthy eating behaviors of preschool-aged children, as well as their parents and teachers by implementing five program components (1) hands-on nutrition education lessons (2) physical activity opportunities (3) parent-caregiver wellness workshops (4) workplace wellness opportunities (5) a strategic planning process to make center health-promoting environment and policy changes.

Tracy has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 30 years. In her current role, as Program Director of City and County of Denver Grants for Culture of Wellness in Preschools (COWP), she has been guiding the work for the last 12 years. Tracy was on the original Advisory team, that researched, developed, and implemented COWP programming. COWP is in over 150 Early Childhood Education schools across Colorado and has impacted 210 Family Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Providers. She is a Buell Fellow, and received her Master of Arts in Education in Public Administration/Policy from the University of Denver. In her free time, you can find her hiking, enjoying live music, and attending sporting events.
